Padres-Dodgers to open MLB season March 20 in Seoul

Major League Baseball announced the schedule for spring training and the 2024 regular season on Wednesday.

The league also confirmed dates for international games in Seoul, Mexico City and London as well as a contest at historic Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Ala., the nation’s oldest professional ballpark.

The spring training slate opens with Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Dodgers facing the San Diego Padres in the Cactus League on Feb. 22.

The same teams will kick off the regular season with the Seoul Opening Series on March 20-21, the first MLB games ever played in South Korea. Opening Day for all 30 clubs follows on March 28.

The Houston Astros and Colorado Rockies will meet in Mexico City on April 27-28, and the New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies will square off in London on June 8-9.

Rickwood Field, former home of the Negro Leagues’ Birmingham Black Barons, will host a game between the San Francisco Giants and St. Louis Cardinals on June 20.

The 94th All-Star Game is on July 16 in Arlington, Texas, home of the defending World Series champion Texas Rangers.

The final day of the 2024 regular season is on Sept. 29, with all 15 games starting between 3 and 3:20 p.m. ET.
