The Green Bay Packers have one of the best quarterbacks in the game and are paying Aaron Rodgers a ton of money. Yet that isn’t stopping them from looking at a couple of the top quarterbacks in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Terez A. Paylor of Yahoo Sports reported that Drew Lock out of Missouri will visit Green Bay for a top-30 visit Tuesday.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Media also wrote that the Packers tried to get Duke quarterback Daniel Jones in for a visit but that “timing didn’t work out,” noting that Green Bay is “doing their work on these passers.”
Both of these quarterbacks are widely considered to be first-round prospects.
While some might wonder why a team that already features a top NFL quarterback would be looking at first-round quarterbacks, we recently laid out the reasons why this strategy is actually the smart move.
