As the Baltimore Orioles continues an organization restart, first-year general manager Mike Elias made huge changes on Friday by firing 11 members of the team’s scouting department.

Among the scouts fired was Dean Albany, who was responsible for signing All-Star closer Josh Hader to Baltimore. The team also reportedly let go of scout Nathan Showalter, former manager Buck Showalter’s son.

Elias is working to transform Baltimore’s front office and scouting department after the team failed to make it to the postseason since 2016 and made just three postseason appearances in the last 20 seasons.
