Bryce Thompson scored 13 points as Oklahoma State earned a wire-to-wire, 81-58 victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Tuesday in Stillwater, Okla.

The Cowboys (8-4) have won back-to-back games heading into Big 12 play. The Islanders (6-6) have alternated wins and losses over their last four but have dropped four consecutive games against Division I opponents.

Avery Anderson added 10 points and a career-high nine assists for the Cowboys and Moussa Cisse had 12 points and 14 rebounds, one off his career high. Cisse had 10 rebounds in the second half.

Anderson played the game wearing glasses after a blow to the head in Saturday’s win over Wichita State required stitches.

Ross Williams led the Islanders with 19 points while Trevian Tennyson added 10 points, though he was just 3 of 16 from the field. All of Tennyson’s points came in the second half.

Oklahoma State outrebounded the Islanders 41-29.

Thompson got out to a quick start, with a pair of early 3-pointers. He scored 12 of his points in the first half, going 0 for 4 from the field after halftime.

It took nearly five minutes before the Islanders hit their first shot, missing their first nine attempts from the field. A&M-Corpus Christi made just four of its first 25 shots.

By that time, the game was well in hand for the Cowboys.

Oklahoma State led by double figures less than seven minutes in. A minute later, the lead was double figures for good.

After the Cowboys reeled off an 17-4 run to go up 35-12 late in the first half, A&M-Corpus Christi pulled within 19 only momentarily early in the second half.

Oklahoma State led 44-20 at halftime, shooting 57.7 percent from the floor and 52.6 percent from beyond the arc in the first half to build a comfortable lead.

Oklahoma State’s 13 3-pointers were its most since February 2019.

A&M-Corpus Christi shot 32.3 percent from the floor. No team has shot 40 percent against the Cowboys this season.
