It’s usually a good thing when an athlete is going 100 miles per hour. Coaches often praise the non-stop motor of particular players for their energy during practices or games.
In Jordan Hill’s case, however, that wasn’t a good thing. The newly signed Indiana Pacers center was pulled over for driving 107 on the freeway.
According to the full arrest video TMZ obtained and posted, one officer calmly asked Hill, “What’s your story, man? Just driving like an idiot?”
A brief plea for leniency went unaccepted, and the police officer arrested Hill on charges of reckless driving and speeding.
Hill averaged a career-high 12.0 points and 7.9 rebounds per game last season while playing for the Los Angeles Lakers. His status with the Pacers in 2015-16 is unclear, but president of basketball operations Larry Bird did not immediately release Hill, which suggests Indiana will keep the center.
