Colorado Rockies All-Star third baseman Nolan Arenado has been the subject of trade rumors throughout the offseason, and he’s not happy about it.

Rockies general manager Jeff Bridich tried to put the entire thing to bed on Monday with a statement saying any trade talks are over.

“With the season coming up and spring training on the horizon, we are going to start focusing on that,” Bridich said, per the Denver Post. “We have listened to teams regarding Nolan and really nothing has come of it. We are going to move forward pretty much as we expected — with Nolan in the purple and black and as our third baseman.

“So we can put this to bed and collectively look forward to the upcoming season and work toward that.”

Well, it sure doesn’t seem like the matter will be put to bed completely, based on how Arenado responded to all this: “I really don’t care what’s being said,” he said. “I just know that I feel disrespected over there.”

A relationship that had reportedly been deteriorating already appears to be in full blown disarray heading into the spring.
