We’re less than a month removed from when Nick Saban suddenly announced his retirement from coaching the Alabama Crimson Tide football team. Kalen DeBoer has taken over coaching duties at Alabama, but what’s next for one of the greatest college football coaches the game has ever seen?

On Wednesday, we finally got our answer.

Even though Nick Saban is 72, he doesn’t have any plans of stepping away from football altogether. In fact, now Saban’s set to be featured on TV even more than fans saw him before when he was roaming the sidelines for the Alabama Crimson Tide.

According to ESPN, Nick Saban has been hired as a College GameDay analyst on Saturdays. He’ll also use his vast amount of knowledge to offer his insight during NFL Draft coverage in addition to SEC media days throughout the year.

While this will be a new role for him, Saban did appear frequently on The Pat McAfee Show during the 2023 season, making a weekly appearance each Thursday. He’s also popped onto to College GameDay’s broadcasts in the past, meaning this won’t be entirely new for Coach Saban.

Can Saban be as good on TV as he was as a head coach? It’s hard to top winning seven National Championships, but we’re willing to bet that he’ll be a great addition to ESPN’s college football team too.
