The Washington Capitals (4-1-0) will play the third of their four-game homestand on Sunday afternoon. This time they will host the Vancouver Canucks (3-2-0) at Capital One Arena.

The puck drops at 12:30 p.m.

The Capitals have won four straight are coming off their best game of the season from this past Friday night. Washington took care of business at home for a 5-1 victory over the Minnesota Wild.

The Wild entered the contest with 10 power-play goals in just four games, but Washington did its job by shutting them down on their two penalty kills. The Capitals also outshot Minnesota 45-14 overall, with their plus-31 shot disparity matching their third-best mark in franchise history.

Dylan Strome was incredible as he recorded four points (two goals, two assists), while Alex Ovechkin scored his first tally of the season to reach 898 career goals.

On the downside, Pierre-Luc Dubois was placed on injured reserve as he continues to deal with a lower-body injury. Luckily, the injury is not a long-term concern. As a result, Ethen Frank was called up as an extra forward option.

Meanwhile, the Canucks are playing the middle match of a five-game road trip. Vancouver started with a 5-3 win over the Dallas Stars on Thursday. Then, they defeated the Chicago Blackhawks 3-2 in a shootout a night later.

Vancouver will finish up their road trip in Pittsburgh and Nashville before returning home.
