The Washington Capitals will finish a set of road back-to-backs in Alberta on Saturday night. They will visit the Edmonton Oilers at Rogers Place.

The puck drops at 10:00 p.m. ET.

The Capitals are coming off a much-needed win as they beat Calgary 3-1 on Friday night. They officially snapped their four-game losing skid as a result.

Now, the Capitals will look to accomplish something they haven’t done since early December: String together wins.

The most surprising thing to happen in the Capitals’ victory over Calgary was Hendrix Lapierre finding the net. Lapierre’s second-period tally marked his first NHL goal since March 18, 2024. Funny enough, that came against the same opponent.

The Capitals played much better hockey as Aliaksei Protas scored the game-winning goal in the third. Then, Alex Ovechkin sealed it with an empty-netter for career goal No. 918.

Logan Thompson also made an impression in his hometown, making 25 saves for his 18th win this season.

Meanwhile, Edmonton is finishing up the front half of an eight-game homestand. They shut out St. Louis before falling to New Jersey and Pittsburgh. After the Capitals game, Edmonton will host Anaheim, Minnesota, San Jose, and Toronto.

Both teams previously met in D.C. on Nov. 19, where the Capitals recorded seven goals for a 7-4 victory. Ryan Leonard and Tom Wilson each scored twice, while Connor McMichael finished with three assists.
