Washington Capitals stars Tom Wilson, Logan Thompson, and Martin Fehervary will all have a shot at a medal. This comes as Canada and Slovakia both won their Olympic quarterfinal games on Wednesday.

Canada’s game was an absolute thriller, as they snuck past Czechia 4-3 in overtime. The Canadians trailed 3-2 late until Nick Suzuki tied it up, and Mitch Marner scored the OT game-winner.

Wilson had two penalty minutes in the win and currently has three points in four games, as well as several hits. Thompson was the backup goaltender behind Jordan Binnington, who gave up three goals. The 28-year-old Capitals netminder has started one game for Canada, which came with a win and a .960 save percentage.

Meanwhile, Fehervary added an assist for his first Olympic point in Slovakia’s 6-2 victory over Germany. The 26-year-old defenseman recorded the secondary assist on the team’s first goal, which was scored by Pavol Regenda.

Fehervary also led Slovakia in ice time with 22:01 on Wednesday. He is the country’s leader in TOI through the tournament so far as part of the top shutdown pairing.

As of right now, Canada and Slovakia will wait to see who they each play in the semifinals. The last two quarterfinal games of the day are Finland-Switzerland and USA-Sweden.
