Fleury stopped all 34 shots faced to beat the Carolina Hurricanes 3-0 for his 50th career shutout, tying him with Chris Osgood for 28th all-time in the NHL. Martin Brodeur is the NHL’s all-time shutout leader with 125 career blankings.
Brad Hunt, Ryan Reaves and Will Carrier scored for the VGK. Erik Haula had a pair of assists.
Notes:
The win was also Fleury’s 410th of his career, at the time putting him 13 away from Tony Esposito for ninth all-time in that category.
Hunt’s goal was just the second goal by a VGK defenseman in 14 games on the season. Shea Theodore had the other.
