On Thursday, Vegas Golden Knights starting goaltender Carter Hart exited the game against the Columbus Blue Jackets with an apparent lower-body injury. The injury occurred less than nine minutes into the first period.
Here is the play where Hart got injured:
Hart appeared to land awkwardly on his ankle after bumping into Boone Jenner and Jeremy Lauzon in the crease. He struggled to his feet and attempted to stay in for the remainder of the play, but was obviously laboring. Jenner eventually capitalized on Hart’s injury and scored; the goaltender tried, but was unable to make the stop.
After the Blue Jackets’ goal, Hart awkwardly shuffled out of the net, unable to put any weight on his lower body. Ivan Barbashev and Tomáš Hertl helped him stand and supported him as he made his way to the bench. When he made it off the ice, members of the staff all but had to carry him down the tunnel.
There are no updates from the team at this time.
