The Ottawa Senators have fired general manager Pierre Dorion, multiple media outlets reported on Wednesday.

The reported move comes on the same day the NHL announced that the Senators will forfeit a first-round pick in one of the next three drafts for their role in the July 2021 trade of Evgenii Dadonov to Vegas and the subsequent, invalidated March 2022 trade involving the same player between the Golden Knights and Anaheim Ducks.

A news conference has been scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.

Dorion, 51, succeeded Bryan Murray and was named the general manager of the Senators in 2016. Dorion received a three-year contract extension in both 2018 and 2021 and was signed through the 2024-25 season.
