The New York Islanders have not made any free agent signings or acquired any talent via trades…that we know of as general manager Lou Lamoriello is a stealth master. Last offseason, the New York Islanders announced five signings on September 1, so the question is how long until the announcements are made this summer.
The New York Islanders need to upgrade their top-six forward group and find more scoring where they can. If Robin Salo is not believed to be ready for everyday NHL action, Lamoriello also needs to acquire a bottom-pairing defenseman.
There are two free agents that fill the New York Islanders need, but these players should be avoided at all costs.
