After tearing his ACL in mid-march, Islanders captain Anders Lee could be back on the ice for tonight’s preseason game against the Philadelphia Flyers. The plan was to keep Lee away from preseason action, as there was not need to rush him into game action. But there are no restrictions on Lee heading into the season and we should see him play his usually brand of hockey. (NYI Hockey Now)

Islanders head coach Barry Trotz says there is no concern on the Matt Martin injury front. Martin skated with the Islanders on Monday, but the likelihood of him playing in the preseason game tonight is slim. That being said, there is a strong chance Martin plays in the final preseason game if the Islanders feel he’s ready. Martin is recovering from offseason ankle surgery. (NYI Hockey Now)

With David Krejci no longer on the Boston Bruins, centerman Charlie Coyle was expected to see a higher role this season. Coyle had knee surgery this past offseason and after missing the Bruins preseason games thus far, should get into the preseason finale against the Washington Capitals. (Boston Hockey Now)

It’s the last chance for the Pittsburgh Penguins players to showcase what they got as the team gears up for their final preseason game. Currently, the Penguins have 35 players in camp, and at least 12, perhaps 13, will be sent to the WBS Penguins camp. Some may have to pass through waivers to get there. There are openings on both sides of the puck and tonight could be the last chance for certain players to show their worth. (Pittsburgh Hockey Now)

In the preseason loss to the New Jersey Devils, the Washington Capitals lost defenseman Martin Fehervary to an injury. The status of his injury is unknown at this time. Connor McMichael continues to be a standout on offense, as he scored on the powerplay. Forward Hendrix LaPierre got the assist on the McMichael tally as both fight for a roster spot.
