There is just no counting out the New York Islanders anymore or what they can do.
The Boston Bruins got their first taste of that in the playoffs on Monday night when Casey Cizikas scored the game-winning goal in overtime to even the series 1-1 as it shifts to Long Island. It was just the latest example of the Islanders’ never say die attitude that has served them well in the playoffs.
“It’s just everyone pulling together,” Josh Bailey said after the win. “You’re going to face adversity during the season and the playoffs. It’s just about sticking together and leaving it all out there on the ice. We knew tonight was a big game and we’re real happy to come away with the win.”
