The Bridgeport Islanders are gearing up to take on the Providence Bruins on Sunday at Total Mortgage Arena. While it might just be another home game, all eyes will be on this matchup
Mitchell Miller was drafted by the Arizona Coyotes in the 4th round of the 2020 NHL Draft. After Miller was drafted, things took a turn. Allegations surfaced about Miller’s childhood and it was discovered that Miller took part in a racially motivated against a classmate named Isaiah Meyer-Crothers, who had developmental disabilities. Miller, at age 14, pleaded guilty to one count of assault and one count of violating the Ohio Safe Schools Act.
Miller was soon released after the hockey community was outraged by Miller’s actions.
Fast forward to November and The Boston Bruins signed Miller to a three-year entry-level contract on Nov.4. Since the signing, there has been an extreme backlash on the Bruins organization for signing the former bully. Miller reported to Providence on Friday.
