The New York Islanders were on the ice on Tuesday for their first on-ice session since their demoralizing 3-0 loss to the Seattle Kraken last Wednesday. I did not make the trip to Canada, but here is what we know from the New York Islanders media session following practice.

The New York Islanders announced prior to practice that forward Kyle Palmieri was placed on their non-roster (paternity).

He will miss the New York Islanders contest against the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday and will rejoin the team for their meeting with the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday.

Austin Czarnik, who was placed on waivers Monday, has been claimed by the Seattle Kraken.

The Islanders now have a roster spot available.
