The 2022 World Junior Championships came to a close on Saturday night as Team Canada defeated Team Finland by a score of x to x. The New York Islanders had five players in the finales, with Aatu Räty, Eetu Liukas, and Matias Rajaneimi on Finland, with William Dufour on Canada.
When the tournament went from round-robin play to elimination games, Canada’s head coach Dave Cameron elevated Wiliam Dufour from Canada’s third line to their top line.
Aatu Räty remained on Finland’s top line throughout the entirety of the tournament. Eetu Liukas was a staple on Finland’s fourth line (minus game one), and Matias Rajaniemi served as the seventh defenseman (minus game one), barely getting any action.
