NYI Hockey Now reported earlier this week that Cal Clutterbuck had been scouted by Colorado Avalanche GM Joe Sakic and that the New York Islanders would explore the market to move Zdeno Chara to a Stanley Cup contender. Other players on the roster have been the subject of potential trades as well as the 2022 NHL Trade Deadline draws near.

“I think all the guys come with the same attitude. We’re all part of the team here right now and trying to win here,” Brock Nelson said regarding potential trades this season given the New York Islanders situation in the standings. “Obviously, a lot of speculation with media, social media, what have you but everybody here has a good mindset. Just come to the rink every day work hard and take it day by day. ”

Trade rumors are something every team must deal with during a season, but not something that is ever a comfortable conversation.

The epicenter of trade talks has come from the heart of Philadelphia, as the Flyers seem to be parting ways with their captain Claude Giroux, who has spent his entire 15-year career with the organization.

“He cares very much about this organization and obviously the fact that we are struggling right now, he takes that very personally,” Flyers Interim head coach Mike Yeo said regarding Giroux. “You add on the stress, the uncertainty of what’s to come, night after night the way that he plays, the way that he comes to the rink, the way that he acts as a professional, the way he acts in the dressing room, on the bench, on the ice, how much he cares about the organization.”

“It’s very stressful obviously. In true G fashion, he continues to go out there and play hard for the group and that’s great for us.”

The Islanders have players just like Giroux, who very well could see tenures with the New York Islanders given the tumult of the 2021-22 season.

According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, the Minnesota Wild have shown interest in 32-year old forward. On the season, Josh Bailey has just three goals and 19 assists in 40 games played this season.
