The New Jersey Devils announced on Monday that they’ve reduced the size of their roster to 45 players, cutting 16 players.
According to the team, the following transactions have been submitted:
Loaned to Utica (AHL): G Tyler Brennan, F Josh Filmon, D Jeremy Hanzel, G Jakub Malek, F Cam Squires, and F Dylan Wendt
Placed on waivers Sunday with the intention to loan to Utica: F Ryan Schmelzer
Released from NHL Camp and will report to Utica: F Tag Bertuzzi, G Jeremy Brodeur, F Alexander Campbell, F Brian Carrabes, D Jimmy Dowd, Jr., F Jack Malone, F Matyas Melovsky, D Luke Reid, and D Jackson van de Leest.

The Devils are off on Monday and will resuming training camp activities on Tuesday. Two preseason games remain, both on the road, against the New York Rangers on Thursday, and against the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday.
There will be four off days from games between the last preseason game on Oct. 4th, and opening night in North Carolina on Oct. 9th.
