The New Jersey Devils are coming home with four of a possible six points. That’s what you call a successful road trip. Now, they’ll have two days off of game action before hosting the Montreal Canadiens on home ice. Things appear to be on track for New Jersey, however, they will need it to stay that way. Their division rivals behind them are hot on their tail in terms of points, yet are ahead of the Devils in points percentage.

More performances like Jake Allen’s last night will certainly help More on that later.

Elsewhere, the NHL trade mill is evidently still churning. The Isles are seeking help, and Toronto could perhaps provide. Plus, Boston’s star winger takes ownership, and San Jose’s star center returns… tonight!

Let’s do that hockey.

Devils News

New Jersey Hockey Now: Jake Allen was absolutely locked in last night. The Devils’ goaltender accrued a 31-save shutout, negating a dangerous Edmonton Oilers attack which greatly out-shot and out-chanced New Jersey.

NHL Trade Talk, News, & National Hockey Now

Hockey Night in Canada: The New York Islanders are hurting. They’ve got a plethora of injuries that can easily see their season lost. However, they’re in the NHL trade market seeking a defenseman.

That wasn’t the only bit of NHL trade chatter Friedman dropped, as he explained the Toronto Maple Leafs very well could flip Matt Benning. Perhaps, the Islanders and Maple Leafs are trade partners.

Philly Hockey Now: In a surprising move, the Philadelphia Flyers trade defenseman Ronnie Attard, a former third-round pick from the 2019 draft, to the Edmonton Oilers for defenseman Ben Gleason.

Boston Hockey Now: The Boston Bruins are struggling. In part, so is their superstar winger. Head coach Jim Montgomery benched David Pastrnak, and he owned it in his postgame comments.

San Jose Hockey Now: Macklin Celebrini made his NHL debut on the first day of the San Jose Sharks regular season. And then that was it. A hip injury sidelined the 2024 first overall selection, however, he’s set to return tonight against the Columbus Blue Jackets, and opens up about his injury.
