It felt like forever, but the New Jersey Devils were finally back on the ice yesterday. And there were certainly a few welcomed additions on the ice, indicating that nature is healing, and so are the Devils.

More on that below.

Elsewhere, J.T. Miller is frustrated. He snapped at a reporter amid frustrations amid struggles on Broadway. Nikita Zadorov mocks New York Islander fans, and an ex-Devils goaltender is seemingly reviving his career.

Let’s do that hockey.

Devils Trade Rumors & News

New Jersey Hockey Now: The best news of the day yesterday was the presence of Connor Brown and Cody Glass returning to practice. They’re both on different timelines, Brown closer than Glass, but a return is near for both. Oh, and Zack MacEwen was back too, and that’s certainly a plus. More inside.

More NJHN: Shane Lachance and Lenni Hameenaho are scoreless in the AHL. After some preseason hype, what gives? I reached out to Utica Comets reporter, Ben Birnell, to get the scoop on the Devils’ top forward prospects.

If you missed yesterday’s transaction news, Seamus Casey was returned to the Utica Comets. The Devils recalled Colton White in a corresponding move.

We’ll have a new guest on the show tomorrow that we will announce later today. Missed last week’s episode? Watch, like, and subscribe here ⤵️

NHL Trade Talk, News, & National Hockey Now

Forever Blueshirts: The frustration that’s been building in J.T. Miller finally bubbled over Tuesday night. Answering postgame questions, yet again, about the New York Rangers scoring woes and inability to win on home ice, Miller snapped at a repeat offering from MSG reporter Bill Pidto.

NHL.com: Put it in the history books! Alexander Ovechkin becomes the first-ever player to score 900 goals in the NHL.

Pittsburgh Hockey Now: Do the Pittsburgh Penguins have a stud rookie? It doesn’t look like Ben Kindel is going anywhere. In fact, he’s being elevated in their lineup next to some longest-tenured Penguins.

Boston Hockey Now: In case you missed it yesterday all over social media, Boston Bruins defenseman, Nikita Zadorov, buried Calder trophy favorite, Matthew Schaefer with a big hit. It sparked chaos on the ice, and then online. Zadorov then showed his social media direct messages—all of which are from New York Islander fans—and bodied them too.

San Jose Hockey Now: Philipp Kurashev has revitalized his career with the San Jose Sharks. He received third star of the week honors last week, and looks the best he has since the 2023-24 season. He offered the three keys contributing to his bounce-back success thus far. (+)

Vegas Hockey Now: Well, it looks like Akira Schmid is rebounding at the NHL level with the Vegas Golden Knights. He’s been relied on with Adin Hill sidelined due to injury, and has come up big, with a 6-1-0 record, recording another shutout on Tuesday.

Philly Hockey Now: Here’s a good one from Will James. Trevor Zegras needed a fresh start when it wasn’t working out for him with the Anaheim Ducks. However, the Philadelphia Flyers needed Zegras more.
