The Montreal Canadiens (10-3-2) are set to host the Los Angeles Kings (7-5-4), with the puck drop scheduled for 7 pm ET.
The Habs are fresh off a very productive game versus the Utah Mammoth that saw Martin St-Louis’ team score six goals via five different players, an encouraging sign given that most of the offence tends to come from the first line.
Cole Caufield did score two of those goals, pushing his season total to 12, but the Canadiens also received contributions from Oliver Kapanen (6), Alex Newhook (6), Kirby Dach (4), and, of course, Nick Suzuki (4).
Suzuki put an end to his longest scoring drought in the process, which lasted a grand total of one game. He now has 20 points in just 15 games, good for 14th overall in the NHL, just one point back of Evgeni Malkin.
The worst line change/goalie pull attempt in NHL history leads to an easy goal for Nick Suzuki.

The Kings and the Canadiens are sporting an identical record in their last 10 games (6-2-2-), connoting that this will be a more difficult matchup than the game versus the Mammoth, which saw Utah collapse in the third period.
There will be one very familiar face in the Kings lineup, as former Hab Joel Armia currently finds himself on Los Angeles’ first line, alongside Anze Kopitar and Adrian Kempe.
Armia has managed two goals and five assists in 16 games, and though many have pointed to his absence as the reason Montreal’s penalty kill has struggled at times, it’s worth noting that the Kings have killed off 76.3% of their penalties with Armia in the mix (23rd), whereas the Canadiens are at 78.8%, good for 17th in the league.
Montreal Canadiens Goaltending
St-Louis will once again turn to veteran netminder Samuel Montembeault, rather than upstart rookie Jakub Dobes.
Montembeault has struggled to start the year, but has found his rhythm in recent games, to a certain extent.
Despite having a hard time facing the first shot of the game, which has resulted in a goal against in two straight starts, Montembeault has elevated his play as the game unfolds, resulting in a bevy of important third-period saves.
If the Canadiens are to not only qualify for the playoffs, but also enjoy a healthy playoff run, having Montembeault in top form is essential. That’s not to say Dobes will be sidelined, but he’s yet to prove he can handle the lion’s share of the starts, whereas Montembeault has an established track record in that regard.
Having access to both goalies will serve as a significant advantage for the Canadiens throughout the season.
Montembeault doesn't waste an ounce of energy making the big save in the third period.
