Michael Farber is among the chosen few who can turn sports commentary into poignant, yet beautiful poetry.
Michael Farber on Ken Dryden:
“I think of the pose. I think of him standing while there’s chaos going on around him, resting against his hockey stick. It’s an image I think that everyone who knows hockey relates to immediately. Klim Kostin still wants to play in the NHL, but he hopes that his next stop will go better than his last two with the Detroit Red Wings and San Jose Sharks. The San Jose Sharks decided not to qualify the RFA this past summer, after the 6-foot-4 winger scored one goal and seven points in 35 games. This was after a promising debut in teal the year before, with five goals and 10 points in 19 appearances. [San Jose Sharks]
The Vegas Golden Knights entered the offseason with two major items on their to-do list. First, they needed to improve their offence by adding speed and skill on the wing. By adding Mitch Marner in a sign-and-trade with the Toronto Maple Leafs, they did just that. The second and potentially most important order of business was to sign Jack Eichel to an extension. The Chicago Blackhawks are back in the Tom Kurvers Prospect Showcase again this year, which takes place in St. Paul, Minnesota, on September 13th and 14th. While the St. Louis Blues and Minnesota Wild were quick to release their rosters last week, the Blackhawks waited until Monday morning to announce who will be suiting up this weekend.
