The Minnesota Wild have been very active ahead of the 2026 NHL trade deadline. Minnesota has already acquired Quinn Hughes, Michael McCarron, Bobby Brink, and Nick Foligno, but, the team is still connected to other players, such as Vincent Trocheck. So, what is the latest on the Wild’s pursuit of Trocheck?

All indications suggest Minnesota is out of the running for Trocheck and shifting their focusing elsewhere, as reported by The Fourth Period’s David Pagnotta. The New York Rangers center is one of the most notable players in NHL trade conversations, but the Wild don’t appear to be an option now.

New York has a high asking price for Trocheck, and the organization doesn’t feel like it’s necessary to move him ahead of the deadline. Minnesota has been looking for center reinforcements, despite acquiring McCarron earlier in the week. Foligno has played center in the past, but it’s not his primary position.

Other teams are still involved with Trocheck, but it will take a big package to pry him out of New York. The Detroit Red Wings and Carolina Hurricanes have been the two most popular teams mentioned alongside the 2026 Olympic gold medalist. Trocheck previously played for Carolina and the Saginaw Spirit in Michigan.

With a few hours left before the 2026 NHL trade deadline, the Wild are shifting their focus to other players. Minnesota is capable of winning a Stanley Cup, but more help would put the team in an even better spot. It remains to be seen whether Minnesota makes a move or not, but don’t expect it to be Trocheck.
