The New York Giants are preparing for a game against the Cincinnati Bengals. But thanks to an ankle sprain, they may have to play that game without Victor Cruz.

Per Mike Garofolo of NFL Network, the receiver shared the injury news himself on WFAN 660 in New York.

Cruz’s absence would definitely be felt.

Coming back from a serious injury, he has been a weapon for New York and Eli Manning this season. He’s been targeted 42 times and has caught 25 passes for 377 yards. All of those totals are third on the team, behind only Odell Beckham Jr. and Sterling Shepard.

The good news for Cruz and the Giants is that he couldn’t possibly be getting more time to recover in the middle of a season. New York is coming off of a Week 9 bye and hosts the Bengals on Monday Night Football in Week 10.
