One of the more notable incidents from Week 9 came when Cincinnati Bengals receiver A.J. Green and Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey were ejected following a heated altercation (which you can see here). On Tuesday, Jacksonville’s executive vice president of football operations, Tom Coughlin, issued a statement in support of Ramsey.

Coughlin is right. Ramsey did push Green after the play. At worst, that should have warranted a 15-yard penalty. But the fight between the two was all on Green. Ramsey should not have been ejected from it.
Fortunately for the Jaguars, his ejection did not cost the team. Jacksonville rolled to a 23-7 win. Even better for the Jags is that Ramsey will not be suspended (though Green won’t, either).
We’re sure that Ramsey appreciates the support from Coughlin and his organization.
