Even though he’s now 48 years old and he hasn’t played NFL football in three full seasons, Tom Brady still has it. He proved it on Saturday, during the Fanatics Flag Football Classic.

No, Brady’s team didn’t take home the trophy or win any games. Yet, it’s clear that there’s still plenty of zip on Brady’s fastball.

Throughout the event, Brady showed that he not only still has a lively arm, but he’s also no statue either. Heck, he even dodged a defender’s attempt at grabbing his flag while maintaining his composure to toss a touchdown moments later.

While Brady’s play surely had some people talking throughout the game, it was what the retired NFL pro said later that had folks buzzing.

After the game ended, Brady reposted the clip above with the caption, “Gets you thinking.”

Finish the sentence! Gets you thinking what!? We can’t help but wonder.

Maybe it’s just another retired player having his moment after another fine display of his athletic abilities. But what if?

Yet, since Brady is a minority owner of the Raiders, he’s not allowed to join a team’s roster. Except the Raiders, but they seem poised to select Fernando Mendoza with the No. 1 overall pick. Of course, Brady could buy Mendoza a season to develop, while learning behind a future first ballot Hall of Famer.

But would Brady really interfere with the quarterback of a team he holds a partial ownership stake in? Brady himself may feel and want Mendoza to have the chance to earn the starting job right away. Stepping in as a player would rob the Heisman-winning CFP Champion of that opportunity.

Plus, even IF Brady was serious about wanting to return under the right set of circumstances, he’d still need at least 24 of the NFL’s 31 franchise owners to approve via a voting process.

If you’re one of the owners who would have to compete with Brady, why would you vote yes? Then again, robbing an athlete of one final chance to suit up again would go against the spirit of the game too, which would just be inhumane. But when competing for a Super Bowl, who’s to say pettiness wouldn’t be involved?
