Just when it appeared like the Tennessee Titans would get a chance to meet with John Harbaugh about their head coaching vacancy, the New York Giants swooped in and made the best coaching hire of the offseason. Now the Titans have to turn elsewhere, but they’ve planted a lot of seeds.

With Harbaugh making a quick decision, there are still eight NFL head coaching vacancies remaining, though the dominoes could start falling quickly. Could the Titans be the next team to make a hire? They’re still in the interview stage, but another candidate has lined up for a visit.

According to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, the Titans are set to interview former Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy on Saturday. After that, the Titans will interview San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh and former Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon on Sunday.

Breer adds that former Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski “remains a very strong candidate” in Tennessee too.

After winning just three games in 2025, the Titans may be prioritizing a head coach with previous experience, rather than taking a chance on another rising star like Brian Callahan.

McCarthy fits the theme as a candidate with 18 seasons of NFL head coaching experience, plus, like Harbaugh, he’s won a Super Bowl doing so.
