It seems that Pittsburgh Steelers legend Joey Porter has no love for his former teammate Ben Roethlisberger.
Roethlisberger is looked at as not just an icon for the Steelers, but also in Pittsburgh pro sports. During 18 memorable seasons as the Steelers’ starting quarterback, the 11th overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft led the team to not one, not two, but three Super Bowls. Winning two of those games.
But beyond winning a pair of championships in the Steel City, he is the legendary franchise’s leader in wins (165), yards (64,088), and touchdowns (418). Suffice it to say, Roethlisberger is Steelers royalty for what he did while wearing the black and gold.
Due to his impressive success, the 43-year-old is considered one of the great leaders in the team’s history, because you can’t do that much winning as a QB without being a strong leader of men. Well, maybe not. During a new appearance on Cam Heyward’s Not Just Football podcast, Joey Porter tore into the man he was a teammate with for three seasons and helped win a Super Bowl in 2005.
Joey Porter calls Ben Roethlisberger a terrible person and teammate

“He should never grab a microphone and really talk Steeler business,” Porter said. “If we’re talking Steelers business, his a** is foul of all foul. The s*** that he did is foul of all foul. He’s not a good teammate. Won a Super Bowl with him, but the person? He’s just not a good teammate.
“He knows that. Anybody in the Steeler building knows that. But we protected him because I’ve only won one Super Bowl, and that was my quarterback,” he added. “So do I love my quarterback? Yeah. But is he a good person? No.”
Porter also claimed that the team usually voted on team captains before Roethlisberger arrived in 2004. However, when he was named the starting QB, the coaches automatically made him a team captain because they knew his teammates would not vote for him to be one.
“If he wasn’t a captain, he’d probably throw a hissy fit,” Porter claimed. “Nobody’s going to vote for him for captain because he doesn’t have captain qualities.”
