The Seattle Seahawks have a sizable void at the starting running back spot. However, on Wednesday, they met with a potential replacement for Kenneth Walker III, who has an achievement on his resume that the Super Bowl MVP doesn’t: a trip to the Pro Bowl.

The 2025 NFL season was a magical year for the Seahawks. Sure, they were expected to be competitive, but few thought they would be good enough to reach the Super Bowl, let alone win it. However, that is exactly what they did last month against the New England Patriots.

Yet, success also brings imitation as rivals look to take pieces from Seattle’s winning recipe. The Seahawks lost a notable piece of their winning brew when Super MVP Kenneth Walker III landed a three-year, $43 million deal from the Kansas City Chiefs in free agency.

While the running back wasn’t an elite player at his position, he has been a difference maker for Seattle ever since he arrived as a second-round pick in 2022. So, his exit leaves a notable hole in the backfield for the Seahawks.

Seattle Seahawks meet with Najee Harris

The assumption by many is that they would look to address the issue internally or on Day 2 or 3 of the NFL Draft. However, a new report reveals they are in talks with a pretty good replacement option from free agency. “Los Angeles Chargers free-agent RB Najee Harris visited today with the Seattle Seahawks,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.

Harris is a one-time Pro Bowler who has run for 1,000 or more yards in every season of his career except 2025. Unfortunately, his campaign came to a quick end last year after he suffered an Achilles tear in Week 3. Unsurprisingly, the injury is the main reason why he remains in free agency as we close in on April.

If Harris can be close to the player he was over the first four years of his career, he brings very similar stats to Walker III but probably should come at a bit more reasonable rate.
