Fresh off a Super Bowl loss, the New England Patriots are moving forward in the best way possible, by targeting more roster upgrades. We’ve already seen Patriots general manager Eliot Wolf strike in free agency again, reaching contracts with the likes of Romeo Doubs, Alijah Vera-Tucker, Dre’Mont Jones, and Kevin Byard, to name a few.
While there will surely be a few smaller free agency additions to come, the Patriots also have to shift their attention to the 2026 NFL Draft, which takes place from April 23-25. The Patriots have 11 selections for the three-day event, and they may be zeroing in on one of their targets.
According to NFL insider Tony Pauline of Essentially Sports, Georgia tight end prospect Oscar Delp has been “getting a lot of interest” from the Patriots.
Delp recently “crushed” his Georgia Pro Day, running a consensus but unofficial time of 4.48 seconds in the 40-yard dash. He combined that with a 38-inch vertical leap. Pauline notes that Delp’s position work was “outstanding.”
He even drew comparisons to Georgia alum Brock Bowers after running “sharp, crisp routes” and catching the ball “extremely well.” While many regard Oregon’s Kenyon Sadiq as the best tight end prospect in the 2026 NFL Draft, Pauline says “Delp is now in the conversation for TE2.”
While the Patriots may very well be eyeing Delp with the 63rd or 95th overall pick, he also met with the Carolina Panthers following the workout. They’re surely not the only teams interested in the 6-foot-5 tight end.
