Less than 48 hours after being released by the Atlanta Falcons, veteran cornerback Robert Alford already has a job. Not only that, the money seems to indicate that it will be a starting job.

NFL’s Ian Rapoport is reporting that the Arizona Cardinals have signed Alford to a three-year, $22.5 million contract with a solid $13.5 million in guarantees.

A second-round pick of the Falcons back in 2013, the 30-year-old Alford has been a full-time starter in each of the past five seasons.

Unfortunately, he was among the worst cover corners in the NFL this past season — leading to Alford’s demise in Atlanta.

Prior to that, the small-school product was a solid starter opposite Desmond Trufant. Arizona certainly hopes he rekindles that magic in the desert.
