On Saturday, Troy Hill was arrested on suspicion of a DUI. He was held out of Sunday’s game as a result. Then on Tuesday, the Los Angeles Rams waived the cornerback.

All things considered, we certainly can’t be surprised by the news. It does, however, fly in the face of what Jeff Fisher said about the situation on Monday.

Per Alden Gonzalez of ESPN, the coach said that the was “very, very disappointed in him, disappointed in his choices, but waiting to get the results from law enforcement before I make a decision.”

A response from law enforcement hasn’t happened yet. Hill’s arrest came on Saturday morning, and per Gonzalez his court date is scheduled for December 14.

Hill is in his second NFL season. The Cincinnati Bengals signed him as an undrafted free agent following the 2015 draft. He remained with the Bengals for most of 2015 and played in three games. Late in the season, Cincinnati waived Hill. He was briefly with the New England Patriots before he was waived again and signed by the Rams.
