Once March comes around, the Philadelphia Eagles can start making upgrades to their roster. Eagles general manager Howie Roseman is typically one of the most active roster builders in football, and he’s not afraid to swing for the fences.

Yet, Roseman’s job might become tougher this offseason, depending on the decisions of two of his key players.

According to Jeff McClane via his Uncovering the Birds podcast, both right tackle Lane Johnson and left guard Landon Dickerson are pondering retirement this offseason. Johnson, who’s 35, may be less likely to retire when compared to Dickerson, who’s just 27.

“In terms of Lane and his future, here’s what I can say: He’s definitely not sure if he’s coming back or not, is the impression I get,” McLane said. “You would think maybe this would make it a little less likely. When you’re looking at retirement, it’s, ‘Can my body do it again? Do I want to do it again? Lane has a very high standard for himself. Landon Dickerson may be even more of a question mark.”

The Eagles pride themselves on building one of the NFL’s best offensive lines. Last offseason, right guard Mekhi Becton departed for the Los Angeles Chargers. Philadelphia’s offense wasn’t the same without him.

Now, with the Eagles facing the possibility of replacing two more starting offensive linemen? That could prove to be a tall task in one offseason.
