The star wide receiver that has been linked to the Buffalo Bills and Denver Broncos in Round 1 of April’s event has been compared to five-time Pro Bowler Jarvis Landry by a top NFL Draft expert.

NFL free agency and the trade market — which open next month — offer teams around the league the chance to add impact players to improve their teams for next season. However, April’s draft is the preferred way of roster building in the short and long-term for most teams.

As we near this year’s combine, there have already been many intriguing prospects linked to various teams in the NFL Draft. One of them is stud Indiana receiver Omar Cooper Jr. The junior is projected to go late in Round 1 in many mock drafts, and two teams that are often predicted to select him are the Bills and Broncos.

Both have franchise QBs that could use more weapons, and the 5-foot-11 receiver has a lot of upside after a breakthrough season in 2025, where he posted 937 yards and 13 touchdowns. But how high is Cooper Jr.’s ceiling? Well, veteran NFL Draft expert Todd McShay went into detail on exactly that this week.

Todd McShay calls Omar Cooper Jr. a faster Jarvis Landry

In a video breaking down Cooper Jr.’s potential, McShay called him one of the most “consistent, reliable, toughest son of a b**** blockers in this class at wide receiver.” He also added that his effort, angles, and his fight after catches are “unparalleled” among his contemporaries.

McShay then revealed that while scouting Omar Cooper Jr., he had an epiphany about who the Indiana star reminded him of, and it was his favorite receiver to ever evaluate. “He’s a faster version of Jarvis Landry,” he said.

Landry was an early second-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins. During four seasons in South Beach, he earned Pro Bowl honors three times and had a pair of seasons with over 100 catches. He then made Pro Bowl appearances in the first two of his four seasons with the Cleveland Browns before injuries led to washing out of the league in 2022.

If Cooper Jr. can be anywhere close to the player Landry was, Bills and Broncos fans would be overjoyed if he ends up being their pick in Round 1 of April’s draft.
