The New York Giants put an end to their nine-game losing streak as they defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 34-10 on Sunday at Allegiant Stadium.
Although some fans may be disappointed with the win since the Giants aren’t in line to have the number one overall pick, the players don’t care about their draft position and are happy to have won their first game in over two months.
Other than the loser being on track to get the number one pick, there wasn’t any intrigue about a game between two 2-13 teams, especially with key players being put on IR earlier in the week. The Raiders put Brock Bowers and Maxx Crosby on injured reserve, and the Giants did the same with Andrew Thomas, Tyler Nubin, and John Michael Schmitz.
For one week, Giants players and coaches can rejoice in victory. Here are three takeaways from Big Blue’s third victory of the year.
3 Building blocks of played well

2025 has been an absolute disaster for New York, and there will be significant changes coming this offseason. However, some of their young players who will be building blocks for the future all made huge contributions in the win over the Raiders.
Jaxson Dart rebounded from the worst game of his career last week and completed 22 out of 30 passes for 207 yards and ran the ball nine times for 48 yards with two touchdowns. His 73.3 completion percentage was the highest of the year.
Brian Burns showed again on Sunday that he is one of the premier pass rushers in the league and had a sack and a half to go along with four tackles. He now has 16.5 sacks on the year, which is a career-high, and he’s only 27, which means he has a few peak seasons left in him.
Abdul Carter continued his outstanding play this month as he had three tackles, half a sack, and was credited with four quarterback hits. This is the fourth consecutive game where he’s had at least half a sack. If Carter can play at this level going forward, he and Burns will be a terror for opposing offenses to deal with.
Dart, Burns, and Carter will have major roles in bringing back the franchise to prominence, and the play by these three on Sunday gives fans hope that brighter days are ahead.
Robinson’s 1,000-yard season will make it harder to re-sign him

One of the toughest decisions the team will face this offseason is whether or not to bring back Wan’Dale Robinson, who will be a free agent at the end of the season. Robinson had a stellar performance on Sunday, catching 11 passes for 113 yards, which put him over 1,000 receiving yards for the season.
He is one of the best and most reliable slot receivers in the league and will draw interest from several teams across the league. Once Malik Nabers was lost for the season, Robinson was the only reliable wideout the team had.
Robinson will turn 25 in January, and it’s unlikely he or his agent will be willing to give New York a hometown discount after the best season of his career. New York’s brass will have to decide how much they’re willing to pay to keep their slot receiver.
NY Giants avoid two embarrassing feats

With the victory, New York earned its first road win of the season and guaranteed it wouldn’t break the franchise record for losses in a season (14), which they set last year. Sunday’s win won’t erase the disappointment of 2025, but at least they won’t have the embarrassment of going winless on the road and setting a new record for losses in a season.
Everyone in the organization knows how disappointing the last decade and a half has been for the franchise. But at least the players showed pride and heart and picked up the win and avoided further embarrassment.
