One of Jaxson Dart’s New York Giants teammates was so surprised he made an appearance at a Friday rally held by President Donald Trump that he thought video of the moment was artificial intelligence.

For decades, professional athletes and celebrities often stayed neutral on politics. However, these are very different times, and tribalism is rampant in the United States. So, athletes and celebs stumping for politicians has become far more common.

A new addition to the trend occurred on Friday in Suffern, NY, when, to the surprise of some, 23-year-old Giants QB Jaxson Dart made a surprise appearance at a political rally headlined by President Trump.

The moment caught many off guard since Dart — a Utah native — is the starting QB for a team that represents both New York and New Jersey. Two states thatdid not vote in favor of the current and very divisive president in the 2024 presidential election. Well, you can add his teammate, Abdul Carter, to that list.

“Thought this s*** was AI. What we doing, man?” Carter wrote in a post on X.

The post has gotten a lot of attention already on social media, and it will be interesting to see if it leads to some tough conversations this summer in the Giants locker room between the two first-round picks from the 2025 NFL Draft.
