The National Football League has provided plenty of action this offseason, most recently with the blockbsuter trades of Myles Garrett and A.J. Brown, While those are the biggest dominoes that will fall, some of the latest NFL trade rumors suggest there could be some more action coming.
With that in mind, here are a few potential NFL trades we’d love to see this summer.
Anthony Richardson Gets A Fresh Start

For a few months this offseason, it seemed like Anthony Richardson would wind up with the Green Bay Packers. Now that they have Tyrod Taylor as Jordan Love’s backup, there are even fewer trade options for the Indianapolis Colts. However, the club’s belief in Riley Leonard still makes Richardson expendable and everyone would benefit from a change of scenery.
- Indianapolis Colts trade: Anthony Richardson
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers trade: 2027 5th
With this, Richardson gets to return to Florida. There would be no urgency for him to see the field, since the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have Baker Mayfield. However, durability has been an issue for Mayfield in the past and Jake Browning (71.1 QB rating) was abysmal last season. Richardson would provide Tampa Bay with a high-upside backup quarterback. If he develops, maybe the Buccaneers can even re-sign him and have him as leverage in contract negotiations with Mayfield after the season.
Kayshon Boutte Finds a Better Opportunity

Kayshon Boutte was instrumental to the New England Patriots offense last season, averaging 16.7 yards per reception (551 receiving yards) with 6 touchdowns. Ultimately, the club decided to replace him with A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs this offseason. That makes Boutte expendable in a contract year and he deserves a shot where he can play.
- New England Patriots trade: Kayshon Boutte
- Las Vegas Raiders trade: 2027 6th
The Las Vegas Raiders should go after Boutte, pushing to acquire another deep threat for rookie quarterback Fernando Mendoza. Jack Bech and Jalen Nailor are both better at working the short and intermediate areas, while Tre Tucker has been wildly inconsistent. Boutte is on an expiring deal, so he should not cost more than a Day 3 pick to acquire.
Kayvon Thibodeaux Heads to Kansas City

The New York Giants certainly do not have to trade Kayvon Thibodeaux this summer, but it does make some sense to move him rather than let him walk and wait another year for a compensatory pick. Given the number of teams needing pass-rushing help, that also strengthens the potential return.
- Kansas City Chiefs trade: 2027 3rd
- New York Giants trade: Kayvon Thibodeaux
Because of the Trent McDuffie trade with the Los Angeles Rams earlier this offseason, the Chiefs have a pair of third-round picks in the 2027 NFL Draft. That provides Brett Veach with the flexibility to offer one of them to New York for Thibodeaux. While this would only be a one-year rental, Thibodeaux’s play could absolutely earn him a long-term deal in Kansas City. Even without one, he provides the Chiefs’ defense with the No. 2 edge rusher they need.

Alvin Kamara Ends Career Outside New Orleans

In a perfect world, Alvin Kamara would finish his NFL career with the team that drafted him. However, it has become increasingly clear that the New Orleans Saints seem to prefer Travis Etienne and Devin Neal operating as their running back tandem in 2026. Kamara is expendable, but it would take the right circumstances for him to sign off on a trade.
- New Orleans Saints trade: Alvin Kamara, 2027 6th (via LAC)
- Denver Broncos trade: 2027 5th, 2028 7th
A reunion with Sean Payton feels like the best outcome for everyone. In a swap of Day 3 picks, New Orleans moves up a round and picks up a seventh-round pick in 2028. This move gives Payton a veteran who can step in as the primary ball-carrier if J.K. Dobbins suffers another injury, or he could help spell RJ Harvey on passing downs.

Josh Sweat Reunited with Jonathan Gannon

Josh Sweat wants out and with the Arizona Cardinals still rebuilding, it is not out of the question that a trade comes this summer. Draft capital is king for a rebuilding team and Arizona has by far the best pass rusher on the market. There will be plenty of suitors, but there is one natural fit.
- Arizona Cardinals trade: Josh Sweat
- Green Bay Packers trade: 2028 2nd
With Micah Parsons expected to start the season on the PUP list, likely not seeing the field until December, the Green Bay Packers need more juice at edge rusher. Both in Philadelphia and Arizona, Sweat thrived in Jonathan Gannon’s system and the two have a great relationship. While this move would require Brian Gutekunst to give up more premium draft capital, he adds an impact pass rusher to his defense. Once Parsons gets healthy, the tandem with Sweat could give Green Bay one of the league’s best defenses.
