The 2025 NFL trade deadline is on Tuesday, November 4 and we’ve already seen one deal go down in advance of the Week 9 matchups. A domino effect is likely to follow, with a few notable NFL trade candidatespotentially on the move in the next few days.

Let’s dive into our NFL trade deadline predictions ahead of Week 9.

Jakobi Meyers Traded to New York Giants

NFL Trade Deadline Predictions

With Jakobi Meyers a free agent at the end of the season, it doesn’t make a ton of sense for the Las Vegas Raiders to keep him and then wait for a compensatory pick in the 2027 NFL Draft when he walks in free agency. Instead, the best path toward turning this offense around long-term is moving Meyers now for a pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

  • New York Giants trade: 2026 fourth-round pick
  • Las Vegas Raiders trade: 2026 sixth-round pick

Now that the New York Giants are without both Malik Nabers and Cam Skattebo for the remainder of the season, they need someone who can help Jaxson Dart. Meyers would have a chance to be the No. 1 receiver in New York, and his route-running would position him to get open quickly, providing a go-to target for Dart in Brian Daboll’s offense. The Giants get a short-term boost to improve the supporting cast around Dart, and Las Vegas moves up a few rounds in the draft.

New Orleans Saints Trade Rashid Shaheed to Denver Broncos

NFL Trade Deadline Predictions
Matthew Hinton-Imagn Images

New Orleans Saints wide receivers Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed, and Brandin Cooks have all appeared in NFL trade rumors over the last week. Realistically, Olave is the most likely to stay, as he’s reportedly in contract extension talks with the Saints, which could make Shaheed expendable. Given recent reports that the Denver Broncos are in the market for a wide receiver, a deal between Sean Payton and his former team makes sense.

  • Denver Broncos trade: 2026 fourth-round pick (Saints)
  • New Orleans Saints: Rashid Shaheed

Although Payton wasn’t in New Orleans when the Saints signed Shaheed as an undrafted free agent, he has strong connections within the organization and will know those who can vouch for Shaheed’s ability. Stepping into Denver’s offense, Shaheed would have a path to being the team’s No. 2 receiver and a valuable offensive weapon thanks to Payton’s play-calling. New Orleans could look to reclaim a third-round pick in 2026, which they previously traded away.

Indianapolis Colts Acquire Logan Wilson from Cincinnati Bengals

NFL Trade Deadline Predictions

One theme with our NFL trade deadline predictions is connecting players to organizations or coaches they have a history with. In this case, trading linebacker Logan Wilson to the Indianapolis Colts. Wilson lost his place in the Cincinnati Bengals defense, getting replaced by two rookies. Since he’s requested a trade out of Cincinnati, it would be reasonable for the organization to trade him since they won’t move Trey Hendrickson.

  • Cincinnati Bengals trade: Logan Wilson
  • Indianapolis Colts trade: 2026 seventh-round pick

Wilson would not reunite with Lou Anarumo in Indianapolis, but the play-caller deployed him as a starter in Cincinnati and saw the veteran linebacker rack up 133 solo tackles, 8 quarterback hits, 7 tackles for loss, and 4 interceptions in 28 games from 2023-24. Wilson could offer depth and experience in the Colts linebacker room rather than directly replacing Zaire Franklin, who is a productive starter.

New England Patriots Add to Pass Rush with Arden Key Trade

NFL Trade Deadline Predictions
Corey Perrine/Florida Times-Union / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images

Ahead of his final season as the Tennessee Titans head coach, the team signed edge rusher Arden Key. In 2023, Key recorded 19 pressures and 6 sacks, playing 63 percent of the snaps in Vrabel’s defense. The New England Patriots enter Week 9 ranked 24th in pressure rate (17.3 percent) and 20th in ESPN pass-rush win rate.

  • New England Patriots trade: 2026 sixth-round pick (Patriots)
  • Tennessee Titans trade: Arden Key

Tennessee has already signaled it is tearing this defense apart, outside of a Jeffery Simmons trade, by dealing Roger McCreary (Rams) and Jarvis Brownlee Jr (Jets). So, moving Key at the NFL trade deadline feels inevitable. New England picks up a rotational pass rusher who Vrabel has experience with and Tennessee gets a little extra capital in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Los Angeles Chargers Acquire Baltimore Ravens RB Keaton Mitchell

NFL Trade Deadline Predictions

One of the most persistent NFL rumors this season has been about the Los Angeles Chargers. There are a few options out there, including Jerome Ford and Breece Hall, but it’s worth considering another option. We’ve already seen the Harbaugh brothers trade with one another this season and the front offices could return to the negotiating table regarding running back Keaton Mitchell.

  • Baltimore Ravens trade: Keaton Mitchell
  • Los Angeles Chargers trade: 2027 fifth-round pick

Chargers general manager Joe Hortiz worked in the Baltimore Ravens front office as director of player personnel when the team signed Mitchell as a UDFA out of the 2023 NFL Draft. Keep in mind, his history with Ravens running backs coming to Los Angeles has already happened once (J.K. Dobbins). Baltimore can elevate Rasheen Ali into the No. 3 role and the Chargers would add Mitchell’s home-run speed to their backfield.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Bolster Offense with Chig Okonkwo Trade

NFL Trade Deadline Predictions
Stephen R. Sylvanie-Imagn Images

Not only are the Titans having a bit of a fire sale at the NFL trade deadline, but they also have their tight end of the future (Gunnar Helm) ready to take over as the full-time starter. So, Chig Okonkwo seems like one of the likeliest players to be traded within the next week.

  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers trade: 2026 seventh-round pick
  • Tennessee Titans trade: Chig Okonkwo

Chigoziem Okonkwo would give the Tampa Bay Buccaneers a tight end who can both pick up yards after the catch and help stretch the seams. With Chris Godwin sidelined and Mike Evans out until December, Baker Mayfield needs more pass-catchers. Pairing Okonkwo with Cade Otton could also make for more effective 2TE sets for the rest of the season.

Washington Commanders Add to Secondary with Michael Carter

NFL Trade Deadline Predictions
Morgan Tencza-Imagn Images

In a perfect world, the Washington Commanders could find a Marshon Lattimore replacement. However, the money invested in him and the draft capital they surrendered to get him at the NFL trade deadline last season makes that unlikely. Instead, we could see a move to help out the secondary in another way.

  • New York Jets trade: Michael Carter II
  • Washington Commanders trade: 2026 sixth-round pick (49ers)

Washington moved Mike Sainristill into the slot this season, and the results have been disastrous. The second-year cornerback has allowed a 101.7 QB rating and 13.9 yards per completion when targeted. He fared a lot better playing on the outside in 2024. Acquiring Michael Carter II from the New York Jets gives Washington a viable slot corner, which improves them at one position and also offers the hope of better play from Sainristill on the outside. From the Jets’ perspective, Jarvis Brownlee Jr. has already proven to be an effective nickel corner for them. So, this is trading from a position of depth to pick up a pick.

Green Bay Packers Trade Brandon McManus to Los Angeles Rams

NFL Trade Deadline Predictions
Barry Reeger-Imagn Images

After years of being plagued by kicker issues, the Green Bay Packers struck gold with Brandon McManus late in the 2024 season. It resulted in McManus landing a contract extension, but an injury threatened to send Green Bay back into its kicking woes once again this year. Instead, the team found something in Lucas Havrisik. As the Packers’ kicker, he made all four field-goal attempts, including a franchise-record from 61 yards out. Now, McManus feels expendable.

  • Green Bay Packers trade: Brandon McManus
  • Los Angeles Rams trade: 2028 seventh-round pick

Sean McVay hasn’t made it much of a secret that the coaching staff doesn’t have a ton of confidence in kicker Joshua Karty. Given this team’s aspirations, they can’t afford to lose another game or two because of missed field goals. McManus offers a better track record and would cost next to nothing to acquire. Meanwhile, Green Bay gets to move forward with Havrisik.

Kansas City Chiefs Pull Off a Bradley Chubb Trade

NFL Trade Deadline Predictions
Bob Donnan-Imagn Images

We don’t have Maxx Crosby, Jaelan Phillips, Myles Garrett or Trey Hendrickson getting moved in our NFL trade deadline predictions. That’s just looking at the history of what happens and realizing a move is improbable. Besides, teams have made it pretty clear that they don’t have interest in moving those edge rushers. It’s a different story for Bradley Chubb of the Miami Dolphins.

  • Kansas City Chiefs trade: 2026 fifth-round pick, CB Joshua Williams
  • Miami Dolphins trade: Bradley Chubb

Miami would likely be happy to get out of his contract, which carries a $31.202 million cap hit in 2026. Since his effectiveness has also dipped thanks to injuries, there’s even more incentive to move off him and open up snaps for other plays. This is where the Kansas City Chiefs can strike. In exchange for taking on Chubb’s contract, Kansas City gets an edge rusher who still has 7 QB hits, 7 pressures and 4 sacks this season without giving up meaningful draft capital. Plus, Kansas City can designate him as a post-June 1 release enxt offseason for $20.23 million in cap savings ($10.972 million dead cap).

Detroit Lions Swing Trade for Malcolm Koonce

NFL Trade Candidates
Stephen R. Sylvanie-Imagn Images

No, the Detroit Lions aren’t going to bring Maxx Crosby back to Michigan. Las Vegas has made it abundantly clear that he’s not available and it’s not like Detroit can really afford to take on Crosby’s contract long-term. However, there’s another Raiders’ pass rusher who could be a short-term fix.

  • Detroit Lions trade: 2026 sixth-round pick (Jaguars), 2026 sixth-round pick (Browns)
  • Las Vegas Raiders trade: Malcolm Koonce

Malcolm Koonce, who recorded 23 pressures and 8 sacks in 2023, hasn’t been quite as effective in his first season back from knee surgery in 2024. However, he’s still a solid rotational edge rusher. He would also have even more surrounding talent in Detroit and might be the ideal replacement for the oft-injured Marcus Davenport. As for Las Vegas, it picks up a pair of sixth-round picks for a player who will likely want to leave the organization as a free agent next offseason.
