There haven’t been many bright spots this season on the Cincinnati Bengals defense, but the team has seen rookies Demetrius Knight Jr. and Barrell Carter firmly entrench themselves as starters at off-ball linebacker. It’s come at the cost of playing time for veteran Logan Wilson. As first reported by Ben Baby of ESPN.com, Wilson has requested a trade. A third-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, Wilson has recorded 100-plus total tackles in each of the last three seasons with five forced fumbles from 2023–24. The 29-year-old linebacker is under contract through 2027, carrying a cap hit of $9.55 million next year. Given his familiarity with Lou Anarumo, Wilson could be a potential option for the Indianapolis Colts.

This year, per NFL insider Jordan Schultz, teams are monitoring potential deals for New Orleans Saints wide receivers Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed. Both wideouts are on expiring contracts, though Dianna Russini of The Athletic, reports New Orleans is attempting to first sign Olave to a contract extension.

As the only winless team in the league, the New York Jets would seem like an obvious seller ahead of the NFL trade deadline. It’s why teams have inquired about running back Breece Hall, edge rusher Jermaine Johnson, nickel corner Michael Carter, and a few other veterans. However, deals aren’t guaranteed. That’s in part because, per Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports, the Jets’ front office is setting their asking price on said players very high. Teams around the league interpret that as a sign New York isn’t serious about selling.

The Seattle Seahawks have one of the league’s top defenses this season, but they are open to moving one of their top defensive backs. NFL executives told Jeremy Fowler of ESPN that cornerback Riq Woolen is a strong trade candidate as he doesn’t fit Mike Macdonald’s system. Furthermore, the team has more emerging talent in its secondary. However, Seattle can’t really make a move until top corner Devon Witherspoon and safety Julian Love get healthy. If both players can return to the field, then there’s a strong likelihood of Woolen being traded.
