The Los Angeles Rams made two of the boldest moves in the NFL this offseason with the trade for All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie and taking quarterback Ty Simpson in the first round. It seems another big move could come later this year.
Nate Atkins of The Athletic reported that the Rams could consider trading for All-Pro edge rusher Maxx Crosby in October if the Las Vegas Raiders make him available.

Atkins noted that the Raiders’ organization has mended its relationship with Crosby. In the fallout from the Baltimore Ravens pulling out of the deal for Crosby, the Raiders have seemingly committed to keeping him heading into the regular season.
Las Vegas’ stance on trading Crosby could certainly change during the season if the team falls short of expectations and isn’t in the mix for a playoff spot. While the return for the All-Pro edge rusher won’t be a pair of first-round picks, the Raiders could still get premium draft capital for him.

Los Angeles Rams Taking Unique Stance on Trades
One issue Las Vegas will likely encounter if it pursues another Crosby trade is the value teams are placing on the 2027 NFL Draft. It’s viewed as both a deeper class of prospects with more high-end talent than the 2026 class and as potentially one of the best pools of talent in years.
As a result, teams have been much more reluctant to trade 2027 draft picks. While that stance is shared by the majority of the league, it’s not the case in Los Angeles.
Atkins wrote that the Rams “want to be” one of the very few teams willing to trade 2027 draft capital. It would give them a potential advantage in trade talks, especially with teams in a rebuild putting greater emphasis on picks in next year’s class.
