UPDATE: Jamal Adams has since issued an apology for his actions toward the concussion specialist via his X social media page.

Monday night marked the first time Seattle Seahawks safety Jamal Adams took the field in 388 days after last year’s season-ending quad injury that robbed him of 19 games. Yet, the All-Pro’s return didn’t last long after suffering a concussion just 15 snaps into the game.

Shortly after Adams emerged from the medical tent, cameras showed the 27-year-old passionately arguing with the concussion specialist who ruled him out of the game. Despite the contest being held at MetLife Stadium, the concussion doctor appointed to each game operates independently, meaning he is not employed by any of the 32 NFL teams.

Now, the NFL is reportedly considering penalizing Adams for his angry tirade against the concussion specialist. Here is the clip from Monday’s matchup.

Adams already had to miss the rest of Monday’s game, leaving in the first quarter of play. It’s not known what type of discipline the league is considering for the 27-year-old, but it’s hard to imagine it would be in the form of a suspension for a player who’s already missed so much time in the past two seasons. If Adams is penalized at all, it’s more likely to impact his bank account than his playing time.
