After a woeful 3-14 season in 2025, coach Aaron Glenn’s New York Jets have to do everything they can to compete more in 2026. Otherwise, coach Glenn may not get invited back for a third season.
We’ve seen the Jets take major steps toward improving their roster in an effort to generate more wins next season. One of those changes includes trading for two-time Pro Bowl quarterback Geno Smith. The hope is that Smith can have a bounce-back season. Now, the Jets are taking a chance on another former Pro Bowl talent coming off a down season.

On Wednesday, the Jets signed kicker Younghoe Koo, according to Connor Hughes of SNYtv.
Koo was a Pro Bowl kicker in 2020 with the Atlanta Falcons. But the South Korean native was let go in Atlanta after just one game. He’d later latch on and play five games with the New York Giants.
Koo connected on 6-of-9 field goals last season and 13-of-14 extra point attempts. He has a career field goal rate of 85.3%. He’s also connected on 95.9% of his extra point attempts.
Now the 31-year-old kicker gets another chance, this time to compete with 25-year-old kicker Cade York and 23-year-old former undrafted kicker Lenny Krieg, from Germany. York is a former fourth-round pick. Koo is the most proven of the trio, but he’s also the newcomer, which means he may have some ground to make up.
