Bill Belichick’s immediate future with the New England Patriots may be safe, but the same can’t be said for several players on the roster ahead of Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline.

Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer says the Patriots have been gauging trade interest on several of their players. The names mentioned are all players in the last year of their contracts, with Mike Onwenu, Kyle Dugger, and Josh Uche named by Breer.

While the Patriots may be listening to offers and are prioritizing draft picks in return, Breer would be “surprised” if Onwenu was traded due to a fear of disrupting an already porous offensive line. Kendrick Bourne has also been mentioned as a potential trade candidate, but the NFL insider said we shouldn’t expect the team’s leading receiver to get dealt either.

Lastly, cornerback Jalen Mills is said to be another Patriots player who could be on the move.

For a 2-5 Patriots team that’s three games back of the AFC East division lead, adding draft picks may be New England’s best hope to bounce back strongly next season. Either way, Bill Belichick is apparently at least willing to listen to offers, whether he finds a deal to his liking could be another story.
