The two-time Olympic gold medalist reposted Garrett’s heartfelt farewell message to Cleveland and Browns fans on her Instagram Story, where he thanked teammates, coaches, and the city for helping shape his career. She also dropped a like on the post, making it clear she was fully behind his next chapter.
But as the trade sent shockwaves across the NFL, a different storyline started gaining traction online. Some fans became convinced that Kim, a Southern California native, had somehow played a role in bringing Garrett to Los Angeles.
Rather than ignore the chatter, Kim leaned into it. The snowboarding superstar hilariously mocked the rumors on TikTok, joking about her “secret meetings” to make the Garrett-to-Rams trade happen and the immense influence she apparently wields because she snowboards and owns a few “cute medals.”
Still, Kim quickly set the record straight.
“I’ve been giggling at these rumors the last couple of days because you guys are giving me TOO MUCH CREDIT,” she wrote. “I found out right before it was publicized and was planning to show up and support him wherever he ended up. But I genuinely can’t believe this is happening and am so excited to show him around my city. Go Rams! 💙”
In other words, Kim wasn’t in the Rams’ front office pulling strings—she was simply ready to support Garrett no matter where he landed.
The couple’s relationship first made headlines in May 2025 when they attended the Crunchyroll Anime Awards together in Japan. A few months later, Kim was spotted supporting Garrett during Browns training camp, sharing clips from her visit on social media.
They officially went public in November 2025 when Kim cheered Garrett on during Cleveland’s matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders. Then, in February 2026, Garrett returned the favor, traveling to Italy to support Kim during the Winter Olympics.
