Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett missed Week 8’s game with a concussion, not even making the trip to London. According to the star rookie, it was the third concussion that 2017’s No. 1 pick has suffered.

That revelation isn’t good for anyone.

As we’ve learned more about concussions and the long-term damage they can do, they’ve begun to significantly shorten careers.

There’s no sign that we’re close to that point with Garrett. Not yet, anyway. But three concussions in half a decade is anything but a positive sign. Garrett also plays a position where his head is inevitably going to get repeatedly hit.

At the very least, this revelation means that the Browns and the NFL will have to pay extra close to Garrett whenever his head is hit.
