The Minnesota Vikings have a new projected starting quarterback after signing Kyler Murray. Adding the former No. 1 overall pick has renewed confidence in the Vikings, with many football minds believing Minnesota has a playoff contender again. Now, the team is generating interest from other players who want to join the Vikings’ ship.

Recently, TMZ Sports caught up with free agent wide receiver De’Andre Hopkins, who said that he’d like to join his former QB in Minnesota.

“Kyler, that’s my bro, man. Kyler is like family. If Kyler needed me, he know I’m there,” Murray said. “If the Vikings need me, they know I’ll be there. I think Kyler fits in perfect there. One of the best accurate quarterbacks in the game and his stats show that.”

Hopkins spent last season with the Ravens, where he started three of the 17 games he appeared in. The 33-year-old was targeted a career-low 39 times, catching 22 passes for 330 yards and two touchdowns. In 2024, the three-time All-Pro was split between the Titans and Chiefs, where he produced 610 yards and five touchdowns in eight starts.

His last 1,000-yard season came in 2023, with the Titans. Prior to that, he spent three seasons catching passes from Murray on the Cardinals from 2020 to 2022. His first season in Arizona, Hopkins produced a whopping 1,407 yards. Injuries took a toll on his next two seasons, limiting him to just 19 games.

While his best days are behind him, Hopkins could help make up for the loss of Jalen Nailor, who signed with the Raiders in free agency. Yet, the Vikings may prefer a quicker, slot-type receiver, just as Nailor was. Time will tell whether there’s mutual interest between Hopkins and Minnesota, but we know where the five-time Pro Bowl receiver stands.
