A new rumor suggests the Buffalo Bills will be a top contender for a future Hall of Fame wide receiver expected to leave his long-time team this offseason.

It has been a frustrating last couple of weeks for BUF Bills fans. In the Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs, they again saw their season end much earlier than expected when they couldn’t get the W on the road against the Denver Broncos.

The loss led to head coach Sean McDermott being fired after nine productive seasons with the franchise. However, while BUF Bills’ management felt he wasn’t the man to finally get the team back to the Super Bowl, they decided his offensive coordinator, Joe Brady, was, and hired him to be their next head coach. To the confusion of fans and NFL experts.

With their coaching situation settled, the team will now focus on upgrading the roster and making another run at reaching the Super Bowl next season. A clear area of need is at wide receiver. While Josh Allen has done the best he can with the options they have, he badly needs a bona fide, go-to No. 1 pass catcher.

BUF Bills expected to pursue Mike Evans in NFL free agency

Well, one will be available in free agency this offseason, according to Tony Pauline of Essentially Sports. The NFL insider reports that Mike Evans returning to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this offseason is a “less than 50-50” chance.

Along with the news that the six-time Pro Bowler will get to test his value on the open market in the spring, Pauline reports “people in the know believe the Buffalo Bills are the team likely to target the former All-Pro.” The NFL insider added that Evans will prioritize landing with a contending team this offseason.

Based on that information, the BUF Bills and Evans seem like a perfect match in NFL free agency. However, he is sure to have many suitors, including the New England Patriots, whether they win the Super Bowl or not.
